Become a Member
Any Meetei can become a member of the World Meetei Council regardless of gender, religious beliefs, or place of residence by simply filling out the Membership Form or physical membership form.
General Member
Any Meetei person living in India or other countries who is at least 18 years old, regardless of gender, religious beliefs, or place of residence, and who agrees to abide by the rules and regulations, subscribes to the aims and objectives of the WMC, and pays the annual enrollment fee of Rs.100 (One Hundred Rupees) for members in India or $5 (Five US Dollars) for members outside India.
Eligibility: Any Meetei individual aged 18+
Fee: ₹100/year (India) | $5/year (Abroad)
Rights: Voting rights, participation in programs and elections
Life Member
Subject to the recommendation of the respective state units or federal councils, a general member can be converted to a “Life Member” by the Central Executive Committee upon payment of Rs.1000 (One Thousand Rupees) for members in India or $30 (Thirty US Dollars) for members outside India. A life member will have all the rights equal to a general member.
Eligibility: Recommended by State Unit/Federal Council
Fee: ₹1000 (India) | $30 (Abroad)
Rights: All rights of General Member, lifetime benefits
Honorary Member
In addition, any person who, due to their eminence or special knowledge, is considered by the CEC to be helpful to WMC may be nominated as an Honorary Member for a specific term. Such members will not be required to pay any enrollment fee and will have no voting rights. They shall be entitled to join and participate in meetings by invitation only.
Eligibility: Eminent individuals nominated by CEC
Fee: None
Rights: No voting rights, may attend meetings on invitation
Patrons Member

Eligibility: Those who wish to contribute intellectually or financially
Fee: ₹20,000 (India) | $500 (Abroad)
Rights: No voting rights, but key contributors to development
World Meetei Council
The World Meetei Council (WMC) is an international, non-political organization formed by and for the Meetei community living across the globe. Officially adopted at the Guwahait Second Plenary Session in 2021, WMC is a platform to forge unity, emotional integration, and cooperation among Meeteis regardless of gender, religion, or location.
